요즘 영국 헤비씬이 무섭게 달아오르는 가운데 그 중 단연 최고의 밴드라고 한다면 필자는 한치의 망설임없이 “Architects”라고 말할 것입니다. 이제 너무나도 잘나가버리는 bmth(브링미더호라이즌)의 명맥을 따라서 비슷한 시기에 밴드를 시작했지만 그들만의 묵 직한 스타일로 밀고가면서 단단한 팬층을 보유하고있죠! 각설하고 얼마 전 새 앨범 ‘Holy Hell’에 수록 곡 중 "Hereafter"가뮤비로선공개되었는데요~ 해당곡을들어봤을때필자는기대반실망반이였는데요,,,,섣부른판단일수있겠지만 "Hereafter"라는곡으로미루어보았을때전작, 전전작과크게다를것없는스타일의느낌 을받았습니다, 하지만한편으로는 “그들만의아이덴티티가이런식의느낌으로단단해지는구나” 라는안도도느 껴졌습니다. 그도그럴것이요즘밴드들의진화과정을보자면중간에변화를꾀하여역변하는경우가많기때문에“Architects” 처럼단단한그들만의스타일을고수하는것도긍정적이라고볼수있겠죠~ ( 하지만“Architects”의 초창기 작품들은 좀 실망스러움…) 아무튼이번신곡에서도“Architects” 시그네쳐 사운드인 특유의 기타리프는 전작과의 연장선상 에 있는 앨범이 될 것이라고 예상되구요~ 들으면 들을수록 보컬 Sam Carter의 파워풀한 음역대에 반할수밖에 없는곡이네요… 감상하시죠~!

두번째 공개곡 "Basic Needs"은 엄밀히 말하자면 중간 템포로 전개해 나가면서 헤비함을 잃지 않는 조나단식 발라드라
고 표현하 고픈 곡입니다. 확실히 조나단이 노래하며 뻔할것 같은 노래도 뻔하지 않는 펀한 노래가 된다는 공식은 진리
인듯한데요~ 사비부분의 멜로디는 상당히 중독성이 있으며 브릿지 부분에서 엄청나게 실험적인 사운드를 구현하는데요
오리엔탈 적인 악기를와 비트로 제목 그대로 기본적인 욕구를 고찰하며, 어두운 자신의 내면을 들여다 보는 연출을 사운

받을 수 있는데여~ 그도 그럴것이 조나단 곧 콘이면며 콘이 곧 조나단인 만큼 그의 색이 이제는 어떤장르를 노래하든
그만의 것으로 만들어 버리는 소리 장인의 반열로 들어선 까닭이라고 생각됩니다.
